WTF?: Pup-to-Go
April 28th, 2010 . by Liana
I was just hangin’ out on the ol’ Internet when I stumbled upon an the “Pup to Go.” I thought, “Is that a new fast food?”
“I’ll take one pup to go, an order of fries, and a large Coke.” Hey, with the dawn of the double down, nothing surprises me any more.
But nope, the Pup to Go is not edible. It’s just really, really silly.
Meena Mansharamani, New Yorker and dog-owner, invented the Pup to Go so she could spend more time with her 8-year-old Shih Tzu, Luke. Think of those hands-free front baby carriers you see strapped to people’s chests. Now instead of a cute, smiling baby… It’s a disgruntled dog.
To be honest… I don’t know about this product. The creator definitely stresses that you shouldn’t keep your dog in it for more than an hour, but jeez, even that seems like a long time. The position it puts the dog in seems far from natural or comfortable, although I suppose if it bothered Luke, he wouldn’t be so chill about it. I just keep thinking about the poor guy’s spine!
It’s neat that you can take your dog with you wherever you go — who doesn’t want to spend tons of time with their favorite friend? — but I prefer that time snuggling on the couch or playing frisbee in the park. If I want to go shopping, I’ll bring a human. Maybe AC Slater?

P.S. Tell me that picture of the puppy in a bun didn’t BLOW YOUR MIND.
My mind is blown by the delicacy of the little critter! And the fact that a visual joke about hot dogs made me think “delicacy”.
